About the Event
The 2017 World 3D Archery Championship took place in Robion, a commune in the Vaucluse department of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The competition featured 3D targets placed along courses that wound through the region's characteristic landscapes — wooded hills, scrubland, and open clearings.
3D archery simulates hunting conditions using life-sized foam animal targets set at unmarked distances. Archers must judge distance, elevation, and terrain, making it one of the most demanding disciplines in the sport.
